PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Since the authorization of the Doctoral program in 2021, the Chemistry discipline in Shenzhen University formed a complete talent training system for undergraduate, master, and doctoral degrees.

As the first-tier discipline doctoral degree program, the Chemistry discipline has been forming the following (including but not limited to) four disciplines and research interests: analytical chemistry, polymeric chemistry and physics, inorganic chemistry, and physical chemistry. The proposed goal is to find a new mechanism of training creative talents of chemistry, to cultivate students with smart thoughts, professional quality, strong practical ability, and leadership in chemistry and relevant fundamental fields in the future.

何傳新,博導,教授,副院長。主要從事能源材料與化學領域的研究,包括鋰離子電池粘結劑、燃料電池催化劑、水分解制氫、二氧化碳電催化轉化等。發表SCI論文110余篇;近五年以第一/通訊作者發表SCI論文60余篇,影響因子大于10的論文31篇;作為主要發明人申請國家發明專利43項,授權29項。2020年入選教育部“**學者獎勵計劃”青年學者;2016年獲廣東省百千萬工程青年拔尖人才;2015年獲得深圳市青年科技獎。

Professor Chuanxin He is now the Assistant Dean of College of Chemistry and Environmental Engineering, Shenzhen University. He received his PhD in polymer chemistry and physics from University of Science and Technology of China in 2010. He joined the Department of Chemistry at Shenzhen University in 2010, promoted to Associate Professor in 2012 and Professor in 2019.His current research interesting is to design and synthesize novel nanostructure materials for fuel cells, water splitting and electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide. So far, he published more than 110 journal papers, including Nature CommunicationsJournal of the American Chemical Society, Angewandte Chemie International Edition, and so on.

孫靈娜,博士,深圳大學化學與環境工程學院教授,化學系系主任,曾獲廣東省高等學校優秀青年教師、深圳市高層次專業人才、深圳市優秀教師、深圳大學“荔園優秀青年教師”等稱號。主要從事鋰/鈉離子電池、鋰硫電池電極材料的可控制備與電化學性能研究,高性能電催化劑的控制制備及在能源催化中的應用研究等方面工作。迄今國內外知名期刊上發表論文60余篇,主持了國家自然科學基金面上項目、廣東省自然科學基金等多項課題。

Lingna Sun is currently a Professor at College of Chemistry and Environmental Engineering, Shenzhen University, Shenzhen, China. She received the Ph.D. degree from Beijing Institute of Technology, Beijing, China, in 2007. The main interests of her research are as follows: Batteries, the controlled synthesis and electrochemical properties of electrode materials (e.g. lithium-ion batteries, sodium-ion batteries, lithium-sulfur batteries, etc); Electro-catalysts, the controllable preparations, formation mechanisms and electro-catalytic activities of electro-catalysts. She has published more than 60 research papers on many journals, such as Journal of Materials Chemistry A, Chemical Engineering Journal, Journal of Power Sources, Nanoscale, etc.

Prof. Xuechang Zhou received his BS in polymer chemistry from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2005, and MPhil and PhD degrees in chemistry from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2007 and 2010, respectively. From 2010 to 2014, he worked as a Postdoctoral researcher at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He joined Shenzhen University in 2014. In 2019, he obtained financial support from the National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars of China. Currently, he is a Distinguished Professor at Shenzhen University. His current research interests include tough hydrogels, flexible electronics, and surfaces and interfaces.  So far, he has achieved more than 100 high-quality research outputs in top-tier journals, such as Angew. Chem., Nat. Commun. etc. The total citation number of his papers is over 3500 with an H-index of 33.

高永祥教授于麥吉爾大學獲得物理學的博士學位。曾在牛津大學等多所世界一流大學有過博士后經歷,并獲得過歐盟瑪麗居里學者、陜西省青年百人、深圳市海外高層次人才等榮譽稱號。主要從事軟物質研究,致力于發展先進的化學合成方法,實現對膠體粒子形貌及位點化學特異性的精準控制,進而用其作為模型體系來研究凝聚態物理、可控自組裝、活性物質及微納馬達等領域中有挑戰性的問題。課題組已在Physical Review Letters, Macromolecules, ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces, Journal of Materials Chemistry A and Soft Matter 等國際知名期刊上發表了30多篇論文。科研項目得到國家自然科學基金委、廣東省自然科學基金委、廣東省教育廳及深圳市科創委的資助。

Prof Yongxiang Gao obtained his PhD in Physics from McGill University. He has postdoctoral experiences in several world-class universities, including Oxford University. He was awarded Marie-Curie Fellow from the European commission, One-Hundred Youth Talent Scholar of Shaanxi Province, and Shenzhen Overseas High-Level Talent. His research focuses on soft matter, with a particular effort on developing advanced chemical methods for controlling the morphology and site-specific chemistry of colloids with high precision and using them as model systems to tackle challenging problems in the field of condensed matter physics, self-assembly, active matter, and micro/nanomotors. His group has published 35 articles in world-renowned journals, such as Physical Review Letters, Macromolecules, ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces, Journal of Materials Chemistry A and Soft Matter. His research has received funding from Natural Science Foundation of China, Natural Science Foundation of Guangdong, Guangdong Provincial Department of Education, and Natural Science Foundation of Shenzhen.

Prof J Chen has worked in the areas of water and wastewater treatment, advanced separation and resource recovery. He focuses on research work on innovative nano-scale adsorbents and highly effective membrane technology. He has finished over 20 projected funded by NSFC and others and published about 150 journal papers with citation above 17500. He is listed as one of top 2% scientists in the world. He has 12 patents, four of which are being commercialized.

Associate Professor Liu Changkun is engaged in scientific research in the Department of Environmental Engineering, School of Chemistry and Environmental Engineering, Shenzhen University. He is currently the tutor of master and doctoral students. His research is focused on the preparation and application of adsorbents, membranes, oil-water separation materials and solar evaporation materials, as well as surface modification, water desalination and water pollution control in the environmental field. Dr. Fan Liangdong is currently a Research Professor at the College of Chemistry and Environmental Engineering, and the leader of the fuel cell and hydrogen energy technology group, Shenzhen University. He graduated from Hunan University in 2008 in Chemical Engineering and Technology. In 2013 and 2014, he received dual doctorates in Chemical Technology from Tianjin University and Energy Technology from the Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden). He hosted 2 national natural science foundation projects, 5 provincial and municipal level projects, and 1 international exchange and cooperation project. So far, he has published more than 100 papers in journals like Energy Environ Sci, Electrochem Energy Rev, Nano Energy, Appl Catal B, Sci China Mater a book published by Wiley, of which ≥ 60% of papers are the first authored and corresponding authored and 6 pieces of are ESI high cited ones (1%) and 3  of hot (1‰) papers. He has applied for 7 invention CHN patents and 5 of them are authorized. He has given more than 10 invited lectures at academic conferences such as solid-state ionics in the last five years; He was on the list of Stanford University's “Top 2% Scientists Worldwide” including 2019-2022 "Year’s Scientific Influence" and "Career Influence" lists. He served as a reviewer for Angewandte Chemie, Appl Catal B, Nano-Micro Lett, Electrochemistry, and so on.

Associate Prof. Hai Xiong is currently a Principal Investigator at the Institute of Advanced Study at Shenzhen University since 2016. He received a Ph.D. in chemistry from Osnabrück University during 2006-2012. After that, he conducted a postdoctoral associate at the School of Medicine at Yale University during 2012-2016. Then, employed as a principal investigator, he joined IAS of Shenzhen University, China. His research interest focuses on molecular probes (sensors, cell imaging, nucleoside-AIEgens, and heteroatom-doped carbon dots), aptamer-drug conjugates, and the application of multi-responsive supramolecular hydrogel and biomaterials. 陳宏寧教授與2010年在天津大學獲得過程裝備與控制工程&工商管理雙學士學位,2013年在西安交通大學獲得能源與動力工程碩士學位,2017年在香港中文大學獲得機械及自動化工程博士學位,并于畢業后做了一年博士后工作。目前,他是深圳大學新能源科學與工程系副教授。他的研究主要集中在新型電化學儲能系統和高能量密度電極材料的設計。他的工作包含了液流電池,鋰硫電池和半固態電池系統等。

Prof. Hongning Chen received his double B.S. degree in Chemical Process Equipment Engineering & Business Administration from the Tianjin University, China, in 2010. He received his Mphil. degree in Energy & Power Engineering from the Xi’an Jiaotong University, China, in 2013 supervised by Prof. Jinjia Wei. He received his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical & Automation Engineering from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) in 2017 supervised by Prof. Yi-Chun Lu. After his graduate study, he worked as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate at the Electrochemical Energy & Interfaces Laboratory in The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Energy Science and Engineering of Shenzhen University. His research interest focuses on developing novel electrochemical energy storage systems and designing high-energy-density electrode materials. His work includes redox flow batteries (RFBs), lithium-sulfur battery (Li-S) and semi-solid flow batteries (SSFBs) systems.

  謝楊蘇,博士,長聘副教授,特聘研究員,博士生導師。畢業于美國愛荷華州立大學機械工程系,2017年11月通過深圳市海外高層次人才計劃引入深圳大學。長期從事微觀尺度的熱傳遞、熱物性測量技術的基礎研究。以碳基材料、高分子材料、二維材料為對象,結合電熱技術、拉曼光熱技術,揭示微觀尺度熱輸運及機制,為研發高效的熱管理、溫度和紅外傳感提供新技術和新策略。目前累計發表SCI論文40余篇,以通訊/第一作者發表論文于ACS Nano、Nano Energy、Int. Journal of Extreme Manufacturing等高水平學術期刊上。近年承擔國家自然科學基金、廣東省自然科學基金和深圳市項目多項。目前研究方向包括:(1)前沿熱物性測試技術(主要為瞬態電熱技術、拉曼測溫技術)與微觀傳熱機理研究;(2)絕熱碳納米材料的結構設計與其非制冷紅外傳感性能優化;(3)界面熱管理材料的微觀結構調控與熱輸運研究。

Yangsu Xie, Ph.D., a tenured associate professor and a distinguished researcher, Ph.D. supervisor. Graduated from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Iowa State University, USA, and was introduced to Shenzhen University through the Shenzhen Overseas High-level Talent Program in November 2017. She has been engaged in fundamental research on microscale heat transfer and thermal property measurement techniques. She takes carbon-based materials, polymer materials, and two-dimensional materials as objects, combines electro-thermal technology and Raman technology, and reveals the microscale heat transport and mechanism, providing new technologies and strategies for developing efficient thermal management, temperature and infrared sensing. She has published more than 40 SCI papers so far, with papers published as a correspondent/first author on high-level academic journals such as ACS Nano, Nano Energy, and International Journal of Extreme Manufacturing. She has undertaken several national natural science foundation projects, Guangdong natural science foundation projects, and Shenzhen projects in recent years. Her current research directions include: (1) advanced thermal property testing technology (mainly transient electro-thermal technology and Raman temperature measurement technology) and microscale heat transfer mechanism research; (2) optimizing the uncooled infrared sensing performance of thermally insulating carbon nanomaterials through structural design; (3) microstructure regulation and heat transport research of thermal management materials.
